Although selenium is required for health, selenium over dose can be toxic. Clinically important selenium toxicity can be induced if somebody takes selenium supplements that are having 27.3 milligrams (27,300 mcg) per tablet because of some developing fault. Chronic selenium toxicity or selenium poisoning (selenosis) can be examined in a person taking small amount of selenium for a longer period of time and his body retain high amount of selenium in it.
