Phosphorus
Like calcium phosphorous is major constituent of body as the adult body as about 700 grams of phosphorous which makes about 1% of body weight that is about 85% of it is in the skeleton. The whole blood contains about 48mg phosphorous/dl which is chiefly present as inorganic phosphorous, organic phosphate esters and lipid phosphorous. The RBC's contain more phosphorus than plasma and contain much more organic phosphate while the inorganic phosphate is equally distributed in cells and plasma.
Phosphorous deficiency can cause many problems related to skeleton and bones structure. Phosphorous deficiency can causes hypophosphatemia that can cause bone pain and waddling gait. Children may show growth retardation. Phosphorous deficiency can cause twitches in muscle and abnormal movement of legs and arms. If a person wants to avoid this kind of abnormalities then he must take a healthy and balanced diet having foods high phosphorous. It could be done by taking foods high phosphorous or other phosphorous rich foods. Phosphorous rich foods are same as calcium rich foods. It is also known as phosphorous the nutrient that can help to keep body in perfect shape.
Phosphorous the nutrient can be obtained in body if we take high phosphorous food or foods containing phosphorous. High phosphorous foods include milk, beans, egg yolks and meat. A large part of vegetable phosphorous exists as phytates of calcium and magnesium which are insoluble and is largely not absorbed. A disadvantage of phytates is that they interfere with the absorption of calcium, zinc and iron. Phosphorous is also present in phosphate food additives.
The phosphorous ingested with food is absorbed in inorganic phosphate form by an active energy dependent process about 2/3 of ingested phosphate is absorbed. Excessive intake of iron salts also interferes with phosphorous absorption because of the formation of the insoluble ferric phosphate. As in the case of calcium, vitamin d and lowered intestinal ph favor phosphorous absorption. Organic phosphates are in no way superior to inorganic phosphates as therapeutic agents and the use of the former (e.g. phospholecithin) is the so called nerve tonics is not justified.
In general all phosphorous loss from body occurs through urinary excretion; the phosphorous present in feces represents the unabsorbed fraction.
Phosphorous and diet are closely related and phosphorous can be taken in foods and adjusted to the body very easily as it is described above. Phosphorous info is very important to take before you are going to take it supplements and tablets. Phosphorous is mainly the major source for nerve induction and phosphorous info can be taken through internet and phosphorous info is also available on the brochure given with its supplements.
Phosphorous article can be seen online. There are many phosphorous articles available online where anybody can search and visit the phosphorous facts. Facts about phosphorous are discussed above; the detailed facts about phosphorous can be seen in some good book about minerals or online.
Mineral phosphorous is much important then organic phosphorous. Mineral phosphorous is found in water called mineral water and mineral phosphorous is widely produced in body for its use.
Phosphorous is as much important in human life and for its body functions that it can play a role that a vitamin can. So keeping this fact in view it is said that researcher discovered the vitamin phosphorous.
Grains and beans are source of phosphorous so to attain phosphorous industrially for making supplements many industries launch distillers for grain. The phosphorous attained from theses is called distillers grain phosphorous. Distillers grain phosphorous is also supplemented mostly with calcium as most of the beans and grains are rich in calcium as well.
Calcium and phosphorous are closely linked; these are also loosely linked with the balanced diet. If someone is diagnosed the deficiency of any of these minerals then he must take care of the fact that his diet must be high in phosphorous or calcium or both. Phosphorous is very much needed during pregnancy as well. So a pregnant woman must take care of her diet.
