Fluoride

Fluorine is naturally charged ion, fluoride (F-). Fluoride is believed a minor element because only little quantity is found in the body (about 2.6 grams in adults), and because the every day need for keeping dental fitness is just a little milligrams per day. Almost 95 percent of the overall body fluoride is found in bones and teeth. Sodium fluoride is needed to keep teeth and cavities clear and without any traces of bacteria. Fluoride is such a powerful compound that daily fluoride rinse can clear teeth and make it strong. Teeth and bones are both made up of a large amount of fluoride. Fluoride is another form of trace element fluorine fluoride is also very important for plants growth. Plants can intake and absorb fluoride for its structure and skeleton. Fluoride makes plant stronger.

Fluoride is absorbed in the tummy and small intestine. Once fluoride enters in the blood stream it readily intervene mineralized tissue (bones and developing teeth). At normal consumption levels, fluoride does not assemble in soft tissue. The mineral components in bone are found as crystals of calcium and phosphate; those are identified as hydroxyapatite crystals. Fluoride's high chemical reactivity and small radius allow it to either displace the larger hydroxyl (-OH) ion in the hydroxyapatite crystal, forming fluoroapatite, or to increase crystal density by entering spaces within the hydroxyapatite crystal.

Fluorides are important and good at keeping human structure stable and this factor makes it essential for humans, the only clear effect of insufficient fluoride intake is an increased risk of dental caries (tooth decay) for people of all ages. Question arises that how teeth are affected by fluoride and acids and its explanation is as follows. The lower concentration of fluoride in water was recommended for warmer climates by authorities and researchers and where water consumption is higher, and there higher concentration of fluoride in water was recommended for colder climates.

Most of the foods are low in fluoride content (less than 0.05 mg/100 grams). Chicken, meat and fish are rich sources of fluoride and they also provide many vitamins which are also needed by the body. Meat also provides protein and many other essential components and ingredients to keep body healthy and fit. Certain fruit juices, especially grape juice, mostly have relatively high fluoride concentrations. Foods generally contribute only 0.3-0.6 mg of the daily intake of fluoride. Consumption of fluoride is below 1 mg per day in non-fluoridated regions. Dietary supplementation of fluoride is administered to the children for their growth and their healthy structure of bones. Children living in areas with suboptimal water fluoridation are strongly recommended to take fluoride supplementation by American dental association. The dietary sources of supplemental fluoride dosage schedule recommended by the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatrics should always be followed as it is very much valid. It requires knowledge of the fact that fluoride concentration of local drinking water is what and other possible sources of fluoride must be known to build a chart for fluoride intake.

Fluoride is toxic when it is taken in excessive amounts, so concentrated fluoride products should always be consumed and stored, but with caution and very much care to avoid the possibility of acute fluoride poisoning, particularly in children and other vulnerable individuals. The lowest dose that could stimulate adverse symptoms is known to be 5 mg/kg of body weight, while the lowest realistically fatal dose known is 15 mg/kg of body weight. Sickness, stomach pain, and queasiness almost always accompany severe fluoride toxicity. Other signs such as diarrhea, too much salivation and tearing, sweating, and weakness might also happen. Water fluoride filters are best for removal of fluoride from diet and water. Fluoride removal from human body tissues is very tough. Health and fluoride are closely related as health and fluoride can be together if intake of fluoride is not more than sufficient.
